珍娜(妮可基 )与老公(马修柏德利)搬来豪华上流社区居住，不久后却发现邻居太太一个个都不像人，她们太完美了缺乏情绪及个性，除了她新认识的好友芭比(贝蒂蜜勒)例外，是一名喜爱胡思乱想、尖酸、并酗酒的太太，显然还存有人性。她们两人合夥开始调查邻居家庭真相，竟发现她们的先生都串通好，把自己的太太个个都换成卑恭屈膝、千依百顺的复制机器人……
