美国德州大学达拉斯分校国际商务管理博士，香港城市大学市场营销系与管理系联席教授，武汉大学珞珈学者，2012年亚太管理学会年会主席。杨教授在国际一流管理学术期刊如《战略管理杂志》、《管理科学》、《管理科学院学报》等发表多篇高水平学术论文，也是多个著名管理学杂志的审稿人。
