《予格转换:习得问题及其理论意义》基本上支持以概率为基础的认知语言学派的观点。成人的语法表征具有模糊性。母语习得和二语习得在很大程度上受到语言实际使用的影响。同时，习得者的认知能力也在一定程度上构建允许个体差异的、具有一定模糊性的、动态的语法表征体系。
