《Just Give Me a Reason》最初是P!nk的独唱歌曲，但是后来她认为这首歌更像一段对话，不仅仅有一个视角，于是她邀请她心中的最佳人选Nate Ruess来合作演唱，起初遭到了Nate拒绝，因为他认为他不擅长合唱，但是在P!nk的劝说和引导下，Nate逐渐接受了。Nate认为他从这次合作了解到了P!nk作为歌手的坚强和独立性3。
