At some point in the past, you may have faced a conflict between what wasexpected of you——by parents, friends, family, teachers, coach——and your ownpersonality or abilities. Describe one occasion when these expectations seemedunrealistic or unfair. Was the experience entirely negative or was it, in the longrun, positive? There are times when your life depends on keeping your mouth shut.Think about the first part-time job you had. What mistakes did you make? Whatdid you learn? Were there any humorous or serious misunderstandings betweenyou and others?Relate an exciting experience from which you developed a particular talent orinterest.Write a narrative that describes how you hid your true feelings about an event, such as going to the wedding of someone you disliked.Tell about a family outing or vacation. What did you learn from that experience?Have you ever wanted something so badly that you would do anything to get it?How did you feel after you received or attained what you desired? Did it makeyour life happier or more miserable? Tell about such an experience.Think of a lesson or new outlook you gained from one of your past experiences: adumb mistake that embarrassed you in public or the passing of a pet, friend, or arelative.
