著名乡村词曲搭档MikeReid和AllenShamblin共同创作了ICan'tMakeYouLoveMe，歌曲的灵感来自于MikeReid看到新闻里说有个男人在醉酒之后朝他女友的汽车开枪被警察逮捕，在法庭上法官问酒醒后的他从中学到了什么，他说:Youcan'tmakeawomanloveyouifshedon't!美国著名乡村和Blues女歌手BonnieRaitt在1991年的专辑《LuckoftheDraw》当中演唱了这个首歌曲，她把歌曲的速度放慢之后演唱带有几分沉静而又略带伤感的色彩，而钢琴演奏家BruceHornsby的电钢琴音色也让听者陷入沉思！这张专辑为BonnieRaitt赢得了四项格莱美大奖，在1992年的格莱美颁奖典礼晚会上进行了现场演绎。
